ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the successfully holding the final of the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Karachi indicated that the backbone of terrorists had been broken.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Monday, he said that the armed forces, police and the people of Pakistan had jointly defeated terrorism and restored peace in the country due to which the economy was also improving.
The interior minister also announced the celebration of a three-day spring festival in Islamabad in April.
He said that sports, literary, recreational and cultural programmes would be the hallmark of the maiden spring festival.
He said that on the concluding day of the festival, citizens of Islamabad would be persuaded towards tree plantation and trees would be planted on Margalla Hills.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the festival would help highlight the positive image of the country.
He said that the participation of all the provinces would be ensured in all the programmes of the festival.
