White Lies

Award season is here and it appears (surprise, surprise) that connections seem to matter more than merit when it comes to getting the laurels.

A provincial governor (its their recommendation for one of the most prestigious awards) sent the name of a business tycoon who happens to employ his brother.

Plus ca change plus ca la meme chose.

Summer is in the offing. And so are the sales of the clothing brands.

Recently, one of the brands announced a sale and the whole thing was over and done with within six minutes.

One of these brands, by the way, recently had a print as campaign set in Africa that was sending some pretty retrogressive and colonial vibes. Not that the Begums cared one bit.
