ISLAMABAD: The senators from Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudus Bizenjo called on former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Friday.
In two separate meeting held at Zardari House in Islamabad, matters pertaining to the election of the Senate chairman and deputy chairman were discussed.
Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Senator Dr Qayyum Soomro, Senator Salim Mandviwala, Senator Sardar Ali Khan, PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and General Secretary Humayun Khan and Faisal Karim Kundi were also present in the meetings.
In the aftermath of the Senate polls, the two rivals, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PPP, have stepped up efforts to get their nominee elected to the top slots of the Senate. Both, however, claim to have enough support to win the coveted slots.
