KARACHI: As many as 1448 students graduated from Hamdard University on 22nd convocation held the other day where 25 students received Hamdard University gold medals, seven received Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said medals and 13 were given Institution of Engineering gold medals.
A degree of Doctor of Medical Science (Honoris Causa) was given to renowned Kidney Specialist and Transplantation Society of Pakistan President Dr Akhtar Saeed.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhuwat Foundation Chairman and founder Dr Amjad Saqib said that life is meant for dreams and those who succeed in dreaming usually do end up doing something extraordinary. He asked the audience to try to materialize not one’s own dreams, but also others’ dreams.
Congratulating the passing graduates he said that they were lucky that they have been able to take education from a great educational institution.
‘Now you are entering into the practical field, you will have to try to become a leader in any filed you choose. But remember that leadership would demand passion, sacrifice and unusual commitment,” he said.
Commenting on the success of his organization, Akhuwwat, he said that on an organization, started from helping a single family has now reached to about 250,000 families with approximately 1,000,000 people.
Hamdard University Chancellor said, “Today is a huge day, not only for the new graduates and postgraduates but also for their parents, guardians and teachers.”
Hamdard University Vice-Chancellor Dr Shabeeb-ul –Hassan while addressing the convocation ceremony gave a brief account of Hamdard University’s performance and progress.
University’s Board of Governors Member Dr Azhar Hussain offered extended thanks to the guests and the students to conclude the ceremony.
