LAHORE: Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday declared the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) a “threat to democracy”, and said that any attempt to use the parliament against judiciary would be opposed with full strength.
Speaking at a dinner hosted by senior PTI leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar at his residence, PTI leaders said that the future of corrupt politicians was bleak and their next journey would be to prison. They also said that the party was running a full-fledged campaign for the Senate elections in Punjab, and all democratic minded assembly members would support PTI.
Among the PTI leaders present on the occasion were Abdul Aleem Khan, Rai Hassan Nawaz, Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Nosheen Hamid, Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Muraad Raas and Abdul Majeed Niazi.
During the meeting, the strategy to ensure success in the Senate elections was also prepared. Ch Sarwar said that struggle for change was successfully moving ahead under the leadership of Imran Khan and the people would witness the change in the upcoming Senate polls. “We will stand successful,” he said and added that the PML-N had become the gravest threat to democracy.
Abdul Aleem Khan said the PML-N was moving towards its end and the nation would not allow them to further loot and plunder the resources of the nation. Mian Mehmoodur Rashid said the leaders of the PML-N could not make a fool out of the nation anymore.
“Soon they will be held accountable for their corruption and bad governance,” he added.
Sibtain Khan and Mian Aslam Iqbal said Imran Khan was doing the politics of ethos instead of power. “The entire nation stands beside him in this critical war,” they said.
