First lady urges religious education for youth for better upbringing

ISLAMABAD: First lady Begum Mehmooda Hussain on Tuesday urged the need for imparting religious education to the youth, particularly girls, and also introducing them to traditional values to ensure upbringing of new generations in a better manner.

Addressing girl students of various schools here at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the first lady said that the grooming of youth on these lines would save the nation’s future.

Begum Mehmooda further said that to promote righteousness in the society, there is a need to adopt practices of praying and charity as guards against evil deeds. She added that charity is the best way to avert difficulties in ones’ life and could be given away in any form.

She also mentioned the sayings of Holy Quran, emphasising on the offering of five daily prayers and giving alms to those who deserved, which was a good way to please the Almighty. She added that these practices developed spiritual purity and helped shun mutual hatred, which resultantly produced a spirit of positivity in the society.

The first lady also interacted with the students and also replied to their queries related to the topic.
