Officers must treat commuters with respect: IG Motorway police

KARACHI: National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) Inspector General (IG) Dr Kaleem Imam on Saturday stressed upon the officers of the Motorway Police to behave with the commuters with due respect and courtesy. He was addressing a ceremony at Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA).

He also stressed upon the officers to give respect to every road user, and necessary help to all those who are in distress.

The IG further stated that a well-mannered conduct with commuters, courtesy and indiscriminate enforcement of law must be ensured to enhance the image of NH&MP.

Also, he maintained that NH&MP has attained the status of the premier and a lead traffic regulation and enforcement agency in Pakistan.

We must stick to our core values of honesty, courtesy and help to win the hearts of the public, the IG urged.

He said that NH&MP has reduced the communication gap between the police and public. Now people look towards us with a great hope and satisfaction.

He said that Motorway Police is making vigorous efforts to bring the rate of accidents to the lowest level by maintaining better discipline on roads through briefing, education and constructive enforcement. He said that he is trying his best to work day and night for the welfare of the force.

NH&MP Sukkur Zone Senior Superintendent Police, Ghulam Sarwar Bhayo, said on the occasion that no compromise will be made in providing safe and secure travelling environment and extending timely and effective help to the road users travelling on national highways and motorways.

He further said that NH&MP always priorities road safety awareness among masses.
