Sindh govt to construct 6 km long Tando Jam Bypass

HYDERABAD: The Sindh Government has planned to construct a six kilometre long Tando Jam Bypass with an estimated cost of 1.5 billion rupees in order to provide an alternate route for the heavy traffic plying on Hyderabad Mirpurkhas Highway.

In this regard, the groundbreaking of the project’s first flyover will be performed by Sindh Minister for Works and Services Imdad Ali Pitafi at Tando Jam on January 6, 2018, the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Saleem Rajput said on Thursday. The PC-I of the project was proposed by former minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, which was finally approved by the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, he added.

While the completion of the dual carriage project will take six to eight months, he said that the 6.5 kilometre long bypass would have four flyovers and two railway crossings.

The Commissioner Hyderabad Division, Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo along with Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad visited the first flyover’s proposed construction site, where the engineers of Works and Service Department, as well as technical experts, briefed them about the project.
