LAHORE: A 14-year-old boy on Saturday was taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after he posted a short video requesting the army chief to help him with his heart transplant.
The boy, Ahsan Hussain, was shifted to the CMH from the Children’s Hospital Lahore, where he was under treatment.
In a video message, Hussain had requested Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Amir Riaz to help him with his heart transplant surgery as it was unaffordable for his family.
He mentioned that the doctors suggested heart surgery for him as only 20 per cent of the organ was functioning.
“I urge all of you to support me and especially COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa uncle and Lahore Corps Commander General Amir uncle to help me,” the boy said in the video.
The Lahore Corps commander visited him at the hospital, as soon as he came across the video, where he also prayed for the 14-year-old’s health.
Hussain is a resident of Kamalia in Toba Tek Singh and is the only child of his parents.
