Senate body condemns Turbat tragedy, accuses RAW of spreading terror

ISLAMABAD: The Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior passed a resolution against recent incidents of terror in Balochistan on Friday.

The committee condemned the killing of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hamid Shakeel, Superintendent of Police (SP) Muhammad Ilyas, with three of his family members, and 15 migrants found shot near Turbat.

The committee reiterated Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman Zubair Mehmood Hayat’s allegation from earlier this week that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) was involved in the spreading of terror in Balochistan and that it had reserved USD500 million to fund terrorism and sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Senate urged the government to take up the issue of Indian involvement in Balochistan with the United Nations.

The Islamabad chief commissioner also briefed the committee on the ongoing protest by Tahreek-i-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah Pakistan and Sunni Tehreek at Faizabad interchange, which has severely impacted the flow of traffic between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Senator Rehman Malik asked why the administration had not taken adequate steps to deal with the protesters and not prevented them from camping at Faizabad even though they had prior knowledge of their arrival.

“Every citizen has the right to protest but creating troubles for the public is a crime,” Senator Malik said. “The protest should end by dialogue rather than power,” he added.

Pakistan can easily expose Indian-Afghan backed terrorism in Pakistan as Indians themselves have been making such statements about their relationship with anti Pak terrorists.
