ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has cancelled its no-objection certificate (NOC) for the development of the Ministry of Interior Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme.
The NOC for the development of the housing scheme was approved by CDA in its letter dated October 7, 2010.
Islamabad Mayor and Capital Development Authority Chairman Sheikh Ansar Aziz has said that housing societies operating without fulfilling prescribed criteria are being declared illegal and their NOCs are being cancelled. He said that the objective of this drive was to ensure that people had access to quality housing in Islamabad.
The NOC had been issued by CDA on condition that the relevant administrative body submitted designs of sewerage treatment plant for the scheme area, demarcated lands transferred to CDA comprising parks, public areas and graveyards etc, demarcated residential and commercial plots mortgaged in the name of CDA and submitted Fards and relevant documents to verify the society’s complete ownership of the land by October 02, 2017.
The management of society did not complete any of the above-mentioned formalities including the submission of certified revenue papers to verify the ownership of land. Despite CDA’s warnings, the society did not submit revenue papers to verify ownership of land which led to the cancellation of the NOC with immediate effect.
