Message of Eid-ul-Azha is about helping the ailing: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the Muslim Ummah and the Pakistani nation on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.

In his message of felicitations, the CM has said that the religious festival of Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated throughout the world in remembrance of the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) which he gave for Allah’s blessings and benediction.

He said that the process of sacrifice should not be limited to animals but extends to helping the ailing humanity, selflessly serve the people in need and giving indigent strata an opportunity to share the moments of joy. During the moments of joy and happiness on Eid, the needy segments of the society deserve our attention, he added.

Meanwhile, Punjab CM has said that selfless public service is the main agenda of the government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Resources are the trust of the nation and every penny is being spent on public welfare with honesty and utmost care.

The CM expressed these views while talking to MNA Hafiz Abdul Karim, who called on him. Punjab Bait-ul-Maal Chairman Salman Mangla was also present on the occasion.

Transparency, quality and speed have been ensured in development schemes and it is for the first time in the history of the country that billions of rupees have been saved in development schemes, he said. He said that the negative politics of falsehood and baseless allegations has died and the people have realised that the accusers want to obstruct the journey of progress.

Later, talking to Provincial Agricultural Minister Naeem Akhtar Bhabha, the CM said that the Punjab government has given a historic package worth billions of rupees for the development of agriculture sector and prosperity of the farmers. On the other hand, interest free loans amounting to billions of rupees are being provided to the small farmers on easy terms. It is sanguine that every possible step has been adopted to save the farmers from global recession, he added. He said that Pakistan will move further if the farmer is prosperous.

Further, the chief minister has extended his well wishes to the wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Kalsoom Nawaz over her successful surgery.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the surgery of Kalsoom Nawaz has been successful with the blessings of Allah and the prayers of people of the nation.

“I wish Begum Kalsoom swift recovery and may Allah give her a long and healthy life,” he added.

On the other hand, Kalsoom Nawaz, who was diagnosed with throat cancer, has been shifted to ICU from operation.
