SBCA introduces new rules for Karachi marriage halls

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has ordered to demolish marriage halls established on social welfare plots in Karachi.
According to new rules introduced by the authority, all the marriage halls constructed on residential plots should be made commercial by paying fee while the area of the halls should be 2000 yards.
Every hall should have a road of 150 feet. SBCA has also directed the owners to demolish their marriage halls that are not as per new rules otherwise the authority will do the needful.
It also asked the people who made the halls regular to submit the documents so that they can get NOC. The guests have also been advised to take permission letter from the owners before booking.
On the other hand, marriage halls association said that there are 650 to 700 halls in the city and that they will challenge the new rules as they should be implemented on the new halls instead of old ones.
