LARKANA: Sindh National Front (SNF) Chairman Mumtaz Ali Bhutto on Tuesday denounced Sindh government’s indifferent attitude towards Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja and termed it unjustified.
In a statement issued from his native village Mirpur Bhutto, Bhutto questioned how many police officers are there for whom people come out on streets and hold a protest. “In fact, every honest officer does not like any interference in discharging his official duties according to law,” he observed.
He said that it must be remembered that Sindh is ruled by Zardari who has no legal and constitutional authority in Sindh; therefore, no honest officer will like interference in discharging his official duties.
Bhutto said the people had lost trust in the police for not making recruitments on merit and crimes were on the rise before Rangers operation but IGP Khawaja had maintained peace and tranquillity in the province and brought the police back on proper track.
