Six suspected patients of Congo fever cleared

Reports of blood samples of six suspected patients of Congo fever, under treatment at Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital Lahore and Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi, have become negative and no Congo virus was found in the patients.

Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department Spokesman has told that blood samples of two suspected female patients Rani Bibi and Saba under treatment at Mayo Hospital, Imran at Services Hospital and Shazia, Aftab and Saeed at Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi have been declared negative by the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad. All the patients have been declared as free of Congo virus, he added. According to the spokesman, blood samples of some suspected patients have been sent to NIH and their report is awaited.
