Flash floods, rains kill 46 people in KP in July: PDMA

At least 46 people, including nine children and 12 women, were killed and 21 others were injured in separate incidents of flash floods and heavy torrential rains in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 13 days of the current month.

According to the latest report of Provincial Disasters Management Authority (PDMA) KP on Thursday, most of the casualties occurred in Chitral where 29 people including 21 men, six women, and two children died besides four men were injured due to heavy torrential rains coupled with flash floods that wrecked havoc in the northern district of KP.

As many as four people perished including two women and children each besides six others were injured including five children and one male in Mardan.

In Kohat, seven people including one man, four women, and two children died besides two men were injured. Three people including two men and one child died besides six others including four men and two women sustained wounds in Manshera.

Two persons died including one male and female each besides two children were wounded in Malakand, whereas one child was killed and a female sustained injuries during segregated incidents of flash floods and heavy torrential rains in Swabi district.
