PML-N favours good relations with neighbours without compromising on Pak’s stances

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Monday that the incumbent government has always favoured good relations with the neighbours including India without veering off from the stances of the country.

Talking to Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami on his talk show DNA on channel 24, he said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is new to politics and is overzealous and that is why he often comes up with new statements every other day.

On a question about corruption, he said that if someone has a proof of that then he should come forth with it. Anyone can easily compare the performance of the incumbent government with all the previous governments and it’ll become clear on them the strides PML-N-led government has made in economy, electricity generation, gas production, construction of motorways and the overall planning for the future.

“All the previous governments were elected from within the country and hadn’t come from abroad, but no other government was able to secure the CPEC project. What we have achieved in three years, other governments couldn’t accomplish even in 13 or 15 years,” Abbasi challenged.

He praised the domestic oil production within the country and said since the arrival of the incumbent government, around 83 discoveries have been made and in the month of June alone six new discoveries were made.

Talking about LNG deal he said, for the terminal there were many different tenders and the lowest bid was accepted. The terminal was 400 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) in cumulative capacity and it was the lowest priced terminal in the entire world, he ensured. He added that a Turkish based company signed an LNG deal with a Qatari company and they will set up their own terminal and will bring LNG in Pakistan and will sell it on their own.
