The government has decided to launch evening shifts in all government-run high, middle and primary schools in the areas of Cantonment Board Rawalpindi and Chaklala to overcome the problem of shortage of schools and to facilitate the students to get admission.
The decision will create space for 15000 to 20000 students to seek admission in the government schools in the Cantt areas. More than half of the students of Cantt localities remained deprived of facility of admission into school due to acute shortage of schools therein. The students will now benefit from launching of second shift in these schools. Admissions are not allowed to children of civilians in garrison schools.
According to the schedule, first shift will continue from 7 PM to 12 PM and second shift from 1 PM to 5 PM. All the classes from primary to Matric will be conducted in second shift. No admission fee or tuition fee will be charged in the second shift and books will also be provided free of cost.
