President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday called for addressing the issues facing small and medium industries, and impressed upon the commerce chambers to play a constructive role for resolving their problems.
He also emphasised that measures should be taken to increase the country’s exports and hoped that through their hard work traders and industrialists could bolster exports manifold.
The president said this while talking to a delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) headed by its President Mian Humayun Parvez, at the Presidency.
Mamnoon said the government was providing all possible incentives to traders and industrialists for further enhancing the country’s exports. He emphasised that the commerce chambers should strive to further jack up exports through coordinated marketing efforts in liaison with the foreign missions in Pakistan.
He said it was the responsibility of the business community to unmask the tax evaders from within their ranks.
RCCI President Mian Humayun Parvez on the occasion lauded the economic policies of the government, and expressed his support for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects for progress and prosperity in the country. He said the Metro Bus project had provided modern and comfortable transport facilities to the public. He also thanked the president for taking keen interest in resolving the issues of the business community.
