CNG stations re-opened in Punjab

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Monday restored gas supply to all the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations in Punjab.

According to a spokesman of SNGPL, gas supply to filling stations would continue till further directives in this regard.

He said that the decision had been taken on the back of ample supply which proves the success of LNG policy which is helping people despite some troubles.

Meanwhile, All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has lauded the government for resuming supply to CNG outlets in Punjab after a gap of seven years giving it a new lease of life.

The decision has saved tens of thousands of jobs and Rs 300 billion investment in that sector for which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi deserve credit, said APCNGA central leader Ghiyas Paracha.

He said that APCNGA is also trying to import LNG for CNG filling stations which will reduce price, ensure continued availability and settle instability.

He said that flight of dollar and erosion of rupee is a conspiracy hatched by few to benefit themselves at the cost of 200 million people. It has increased price of every imported item including imported gas.

Demanding action against those involved in the artificial price hike of dollar, he said that it should be brought back to level of Rs 100.

The leader of the CNG sector said that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had issued the LNG pricing notification which should be implemented by gas utilities so that benefit could reach masses through adjustment of bills.
