Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has announced support for the construction of Kalabagh Dam and urged the government to complete this project after addressing the reservations of Sindhis.
The MQM chief demanded the federation to summon a joint meeting of experts from all the four provinces to address Sindhis’ reservations over the dam’s construction. He said that if the officials fail to overcome the reservations of Sindhis then they should build small dams across Sindh so that the wastage of water can be handled.
Hussain said that it was for the first time in the metropolis that people are dying from severe heat stroke while prolonged power outages and gas crisis have also irked Karachiites.
The federal and provincial governments are continuously bashing one another instead of providing a valid solution to the ongoing situation of Karachi, he added. He further urged the provincial and local administrations to ensure the timely provision of ambulances and space in morgue centers.
