SEPLAA launches project for women empowerment

The SEPLAA Foundation, a non-profit organisation, launched a new project Empowering Women for Economic Growth and Peace (SEW-EGAP) in order to empower professional females in the provincial metropolis on Saturday. The purpose of SEW-E-GAP women empowerment programme is to provide help and support to professional women in various fields.

SEPLAA Foundation chief executive officer Ammara Farooq Malik briefed the participants about the purpose of programme. She highlighted the power of professional women in a developing democracy and discussed how they could come over hurdles in their professional fields. She also shared different ideas with the women to help them stand up to play active role in the society. Ammara said women could gain a lot by networking professionally amongst themselves.

Ammara further said that SEW-EGAP Islamabad and the SEW-EGAP International Wing Council was also being formed and the Islamabad SEW-EGAP launch event would be held in April. Saima Asghar Riaz, Saima Nazir, Madiha Waheed, Saadia Hammad, Natasha Mohammad Zai, Mishal Bukhari, Saira Bukhari and Zahra Wyne, Co-founder SEW-EGAP Council, were also present.
