446 madrassas built illegally on CDA’s land

At least 446 seminaries have been built illegally on Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) land it has been reported.

According to details, the illegally occupied land is worth Rs 1.6 billion.

Most of the seminaries are built on green belts and around 22,000 students are being imparted religious education therein.

None of it the seminaries have been registered in CDA and are being supported by people in the name of religious funding (sadqa).

Though madrassas located in residential areas are creating security problems for the residents, CDA is doing nothing to stop the construction of more seminaries.

The federal government has reportedly directed CDA to take action against the illegal constructed seminaries but CDA responded that “nothing can be done about it”.

However, CDA has reportedly assured the federal government that no other seminary will be built on the authority’s territory.
