1,833 teachers demand salaries before Eid

Non payment of salaries to 1,833 educators of District Rawalpindi since the past four months is being strongly resented.

Under the directives of Provincial Schools Education Department, 1,833 educators were appointed in Grade 9, 14 and 16 for promotion of quality education in primary, middle and highs schools of District Rawalpindi. They filed their joining report on April 18, 2014 but are still deprived of their salaries after 4 months.

Rawalpindi Education Department is of the view that payment or non-payment of the salaries to these educators is a matter related to districts accounts office.

Educators Association President Basharat Iqbal said that non disbursement of salaries will deprive them and their families of festivities of Eidul Fitr.

The educators have warned to go on protest after if their salaries are not paid before Eid.
