45000 illegal Afghan SIMS blocked

The roaming facility of five Afghan mobile phone companies has been blocked in the country.

Consequently 45,000 illegal Afghan SIMs have stopped functioning.

According to Wireless Federation report the SIMs were blocked due to their alleged use in terror activities and cases of abduction for ransom.

The respective operators have also submitted a report to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), which had issued orders for blocking these SIMs for an indefinite period.
