A key commander of banned militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed by Rangers in Karachi’s Manghopir area, a private news channel reported on Friday.
According to the report, the Rangers conducted an operation in Manghopir’s locality Sultanabad on Thursday after cordoning off the area and sealing all entry and exit points to and from Sultanabad.
Ranger officials denied to confirm the identity of those killed but security sources reported that the TTP commander and Vice-Ameer of TTP’s Karachi Chapter, identified as Abid Chotu, was killed in Thursday operation.
Another TTP member, identified as Fakhruddin Mehsud, was also reportedly killed during the operation.
The report added that two Rangers men were also injured in the event. They were shifted to a hospital.
