The police on Sunday arrested six members of a gang involved in the theft and the illegal selling of kidneys and rescued seven trapped individuals from the gang’s possession.
According to SSP Mafakhar Adeel, the accused had set up a medical centre in Lahore’s Malik Park from where ordinary citizens were referred to Rawalpindi under the false premise of free treatment.

Besides arresting six members of the gang, the police rescued seven labourers trapped by the former.
The police registered a case against the accused and started raids to arrest the gang’s head.
The accused included Fawad, Ahmed Yar, Saleem, Ashraf, Imran and Gullam.
The police filed an FIR against the accused. Sheikh Zahid Hospital’s Technicians Farhan and Wasim were also involved in the crime.
