Gas thief apprehended trying to flee court after bail rejected

The Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected the bail application of a man accused of illegally selling gas, from his house, on monthly basis to around 500 homes. The accused was arrested from the gallery of the LHC when he tried to escape after the bail was rejected.
On Tuesday, the accused individual, Umer, stated that Nishtar Colony’s Police had registered a fake case against him, adding that there was no evidence of the stolen gas.
Authorities concerned had stated, and with evidence, that Umer had been stealing gas from his home situated near Ferozpur Road, and subsequently delivering the stolen utility to 500 homes on monthly basis since a long time.
The court rejected the bail of the accused after which he tried to escape but police personnel apprehended him in the court’s gallery.
