Five people, including the bride, were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a wedding ceremony in Lower Dir’s Jandola Samar Bagh area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Sunday.
Officials said armed men attacked the vehicles of the wedding party, leaving five people dead. The bride, along with two other women, was also killed as the wedding party travelled from Samar Bagh to Tatar area.
Police cited old enmity as the reason behind the awful incident and added that two people were also injured in the attack. The dead and injured were shifted to Lower Dir Civil Hospital.
Police claimed that the attacker, who managed to flee from the scene, hailed from Bajaur Agency which bordered with Afghanistan.
