Salman Taseer’s death anniversary observed

Second death anniversary of ex-governor Punjab Salman Taseer was observed on Friday.
Quran Khawanis were held in different cities for the departed soul. During condolence references the speakers paid rich tributes to Salman Taseer for his firm stance against fundamentalism.
It should be mentioned that Taseer was gunned down by his body guard, Mumtaz Qadri, two years ago in Islamabad for his statement regarding the blasphemy law.
He was 26th governor of Punjab and was appointed in General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf era.
His son, Shahbaz Taseer, was kidnapped on August 26, 2011 and still not recovered.
Taseer was remembered as a modern and anti-fundamentalism person.

Why has the confessed murderer of taseer still not been executed?…he is guilty and justice should be done…his execution would send a message to extremists that they have no right to break the law…

Salman Taseer was a very noble Pakistani. Pakistan must strive to be independent of extreme views or it will slide backwards into oblivion. Taseer's killer must be brought to justice or the US will stop giving billions of dollars and will abandon its relationship with Pakistan. Is that what Pakistan wants?
