Fathers to face imprisonment for not sending children to school: Waqqas Akram

Federal Minister for Education and Trainings Sheikh Waqqas Akram said that fathers who are not sending their children to schools have to face imprisonment and hefty fines in the federal capital.
Talking to APP, the minister said that the government was carrying out sincere efforts to promote education in the country.
He said that the government had already passed a law which carried three months imprisonment and Rs 25,000 fines for those parents who were not sending their children to schools.
The minister further said that people who were involved in employing children would be sentenced to six months imprisonment and also had to pay a fine of Rs 50,000.
Presidnet Asif Ali Zardari the other day signed a bill into a law that makes it compulsory for the state to provide children education up to grade 12.
