15 missing persons traced last month

The proceedings of the Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances Commission were held in October in Islamabad in which 15 missing persons have been traced out.
According to details released here on Monday, the commission was conducting proceedings of the cases of enforced disappearances regularly with the assistance of law enforcing agencies for tracing out the missing persons.
The commission comprised of former senior judge of the Supreme Court (SC) Justice Javed Iqbal and Muhammad Sharif Virk. Proceedings of the commission were being periodically held at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta.
On January 1, 2011, 138 cases of missing persons were pending. During the period between January 1, 2011 to July 31, 2012, 758 new cases were received by the commission. The total number of missing persons had hit 896 out of which 319 cases had been disposed off and the current balance of the cases under investigation was 577.
The names and parentage of the missing persons had been provided as Rasheed Ahmed s/o Karim Jaan, Sahibzada Rasool Niaz Khan s/o Meer Sahib Khan, Said Muhammad Khan and Umer Baig s/o Shah Wali, Hafiz Muhammad Zakria s/o Khushi Muhammad, Faryad Hussain s/o Mian Zamir, Gul Zar Jaan s/o Khyal Jaan, Muhammad Gul s/o Naseeb Gul Khalid Muhammad s/o Peer Muhammad, Muhammad Tariq s/o Khadim Hussain, Muhammad Yaqoob Khan s/o
Abdul Ghani, Abdul Aziz s/o Muhammad Ali, Sajid Hussain s/o Muhammad Mustafa, Majid Hussain s/o Muhammad Mustafa and Hafiz Abid Hussain s/o Muhammad Mustafa.
The commission of inquiry on enforced disappearances was committed and determined to make all out efforts to trace the missing persons.
