Quaid-e-Azam was not Shia leader: Farid Piracha

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the undisputed leader of the Pakistani nation and he never presented himself as a Shia leader, Jamaat-e-Islami Deputy Secretary General Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha said here on Thursday.
He urged MQM leader Aftaf Hussain to at least spare the Quaid-e-Azam and not try to project him as a disputed personality.
Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha further said that the unjust killing of any human being, whether a Shia or a Sunni on ethnic grounds or for extortion was inhuman and must be condemned.
It was the enemy agenda to divide the Pakistani nation into Sunnis and Shias, he said adding that the politicians should refrain from playing the enemy game.

As per bombay high court record, Mr Jinnah submitted an affidevt in 1898, that he and his family are asna ashri shias.
This is history, and it cannot be changed,,,, He was not KAFIR E AZAM as declared by Abu alla Mudadi what Farid Piracha say about it …

Jinnah evolved like every intelligent being. He is on record -around the time of liberation- of declaring that he was a Muslim first and last. He said that in response to a question inquiring which sect he belonged to. Citing his earlier records is like using Iqbal’s “Saray Jehan Sey Achha Hindustan Humara” to prove that he was really an Indian Nationalist – which he was at the time he wrote the poem.

so it doesn,t matter if he was shia…if some elements hate shias, so what ?

How far are we going to sink into this quagmire? while the world is going forward–we are going baclward. Now after so many years the ethnic identity of the father of the nation is being discussed to fuel unrest. Have we nothing else to do? We are all moslems. Let us not use primitive instincts to cause bloodshed. There is enough already. An empty mind is a devil's mind. Jinnah was above these petty things . Let us keep that in mind . Period

Allama Anis Ul Hasnain offered the actual funeral prayers in Mohatta Palace in Karachi in a Room where there were only his family members and close friends. Its was a Shia namaz-e-Janaza. This is well known fact, Shabbir Ahmed Usmani led a public funeral prayer. Jinnah and his family were Shia, though he was not much of a practicing Muslim.

Lets not divide ourselves at least on Qauide Azam. He was the one who got us United, irresp[ective of personel believes and we are trying to divide nation on such issues. He was Shia good enough or he was Sunni good enough. Please remember him as the Founder of PAKISTAN and dont revisit the history which is of no use and no purpose. All of us has to seek the mercy of Allah and if its sunni way or Shia way, doesnt matter.Any attempt which push ourselves to such discussions which are niether good for our Unity nor for our economic well being, is a great wastage of time and efforts.

    • Omar said:

There is no division in saying proudly that he was Shia as He himself declared this fact. Calling him Sunni is a joke and disgrace. You are wring in saying that do not revisit history. Quran is a revisitation of history and we should revisit our Islamic and Pakistan's history to make our future bright. Historical lies created by Mullahs should be fixed and we need to be open minded that Pakistan should not be a theocratic state.

Shia and Sunni differ only on interpretation of history and not on basic principals of Islam. those who are being killed in the name of faith are human being and their killers are not even called to be a human leave alone to claim as Muslims.

He was a proud Shia, that's why he went to court and we all should be proud of this reality. Being founder does not mean that you strip Quaid of his religious believes. Unity does not mean to deny facts. Pakistan founder should stay undisputed for his work not for his faith.

1: why Jinnah did praise Hazrat Umar (R.A) and said he wanted such justice system in Pakistan?
2: Why Jinnah never attended any Majlis of Ashora according to history?
3: Why Wife of Jinnah Ruttan bai did accept islam in the hand of Sunni Alim?
4:Why Jinnah left Agha Khani Sect?
5:Why was Jinnah in contacting to Famous Sunni Deobandi Scholars, Maulana Ashraf Ali thanvi and Maulana
    shabbir Ahmed Usmani?
6: Why has Jinnah chosen Two sunni Scholar to wave Pakistan flag?
7: Why Jinnah's will was the funeral prayer should be led by Sunni Aalim Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Usmani?
8: Why was Jinnah interested in Caliphate System like Umar (R.A)?
9:Why was Jinnah offering prayer with Sunnis?

OTHERWISE HAZRAT UMAR SAYS " I WILL DIE IF ALI IS NOT EXIST" SO PLEASE UNDERSTAND COUNTRY SETUP ALWAYS RUN ON YOUR ADMINISTRATION AND ADMINISTRATION"S BASIC IS YOUR COURT. HAZRAT ALI (AS) HANDLE COURT IN 3 CALIPHS PERIOD. SO THAT IS MAJOR REASON FOR SUCCESS. OTHERWISE THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO RUN A GOOD GOVERNANCE.

Who care if Jinnah was Sunni or Shia or Ismaeli?
He was a great leader of all Muslims. In Islam there is no Shia, Sunni or anybody else. Islam is a simple religion it require belief in Allaha and Mohammad PBU to be his last prophet and the rest is a personal journey of a human being.
I agree with JI and FP in Islam there is no sect period. I admire jamaat also. In addition Jinnah represented every Pakistan Muslim or not.

Quaid e Azam was belonged to Ismaili Shia Muslim belonging to Khoja ethnic cast living in Gujrat. After becomming a popular political Muslim Leader he did not disclose his sect which was the irrelevant to a great leader of such a repute. His Nikah was recited by a Shia cleric but it does'nt mean he was a twelver Shia. At that time The Ismaili Khojas did all the rituals like Nikah or Nimaz e Janaza according to Shia Ithnashari traditions and some times according to Sunni traditions where they lived. The Ismailies had no separate cemetery, Eid Gah or mosques as they had only community centers called Jamat Khana where they assembled to offer prayers what was taught to them by the Ismaili Missionaries to convert them to Islam. The situation needs to be understand with out any prejudice. The Ismailis having an Islamic back ground living in other parts of Pakistan do not own the general practices performed by Khoja Ismailis even today. The statement of late M H Isphahani a close associate of Quaid also ratifies that the later was an Ismail Muslim who never affiliated to himself publicly to any sect of Muslims. It is a historical fact to be accepted by all.
