Territorial war over GOR houses ends

The Punjab government is strictly enforcing the House Allotment Policy, resulting in the evacuation of 56 houses in GOR-I during the past one year. The government also recovered a record amount of Rs 25 million as penal rent from the unauthorised occupants, who were asked to vacate as their allotments made in the past had been cancelled. As a result of the consequential vacation in the GORs, hundreds of officers were accommodated in GORs-II, III, IV, V and VI.
Entitled officers from all the services were accommodated, irrespective of their background. In GOR-I, designated houses were also vacated, including the commissioner house, the DCO’s house and the CCPO’s house.
