Army troops attacked in Lahore

Unidentified car riders on Thursday opened fire on Pakistan Army troops deployed near the Mahfooz Shaheed Garrison on Burki Road in Lahore Cantonment. Cantt SP Operations Syed Hashmat Kamal said passengers of a car coming from Burki Road were signalled to stop by the army personnel but instead of pulling over the men opened fire on the troops and fled. The soldiers retaliated, shattering the back screen of the suspects’ car.
The North Cantt police duty officer said no one had approached them so far for registering a case against the attackers, adding that any action would be taken after receiving an application.
terrorism threat in Cantt, DHA: Security across Lahore Cantonment and Defence Housing Authority was beefed up after intelligence reports claimed that six would-be suicide bombers had entered the area.
