Traders donate Rs 3 million

FAISALABAD – The business community of Faisalabad has come forward and raised Rs three million donations for the rehabilitation of Civil Lines bomb blast’s victims who are recovering at district headquarters hospital and the Allied Hospital. The announcement was made at the first joint meeting of the National Group of Faisalabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and Anjuman Tajiran City Faisalabad.
The joint committee headed by industrialist Mian Muhammad Idrees is likely to receive more confirmations in the coming days as another committee headed by Mian Javed Iqbal to follow up the victims has also been set up. Those who announced their contributions for the aid fund included Mian Muhammad Idrees, Mian Javed Iqbal, Mian Anees, Mian Zahid Aslam, Shahid Razzak Sakka, Mian Imran Ghafoor, Sheikh Abdul Ghafoor, Mian Hamid Javed, Zafar Sarwar, Mohammad Idrees Sheikh, Amer Nisar, Ajmal Farooq, Shabbir Chawala, Mian Shahid Gogi, Sheikh Muhammad Saeed, Sheikh Ashfaq, NawazVohra, Rizwan Ashraf, Mian Aftab Ahmed, Muhammad Shafeeq, Mian Abdul Mannan, Yaqoob Awan and Bilal Jutt. A unanimous resolution, condemning the terrorist act, was passed on the occasion and the committee members vowed to continue their efforts to extend financial support to the blast victims.
It was also decided to seek the cooperation of the other trade organisations including All Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association, Pakistan Textile Exporters Association, All Pakistan Sizing Association, Power Looms Association, Dying and Chemical Association and Gold Jewelers Association. Meanwhile, city government officials, non governmental organisations’ (NGOs) representatives, parliamentarians, social workers and volunteers gathered at district headquarters hospital to inquire about the blast victims. Divisional Commissioner Syed Tahir Hussain and District Coordination Officer (DCO) Nasim Sadiq also visited the hospital and advised the medical superintendent to provide first hand treatment to the victims.
