Lawyers to observe black day today

KARACHI – The lawyers’ fraternity will observe a black day today (Wednesday) to mark the 4th anniversary of the removal of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on March 9, 2007 by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf. Office-bearers of the Pakistan Bar Council, the Sindh Bar Council and the Karachi Bar Association including Zia Ahmed Awan advocate, Iftikhar Qaimkhani, Muhammad Aqil, Abdul Hameed Yousufi, Mehmood-ul-Hassan and Khalid Munawar announced this decision at a joint press conference on Tuesday.
