BISE issued notice on petition seeking exam postponement

LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued notices for March 9 to all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Punjab on a petition seeking postponement of Matriculation examinations and abolition of the new system of multiple choice questions (MCQ). Azhar Siddique filed the petition clubbing it with another petition on the same issue. He submitted that the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has changed the objective questions procedure questions for Matriculation examinations starting from March 7. He said that students need to be a drawing experts to solve the new objective questions.
Siddique said the board asked students to attach their Form B with the admissions form while also asking pupils to fill online admission forms, which troubled students. He said that the move had failed since most students could not fill online forms and had to get their roll number slips from the BISE office and had to restort to bribing officials. The petitioner requested the court to postpone examinations until a final judgement on the petition. After hearing the arguments, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed issued notices to all BISEs of Punjab.
