Afridi plans to retire on winning note

LAHORE: Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi plans to hang his shoes after leading his team to the 2011 World Cup title.
“It is my desire to win the World Cup title for Pakistan before leaving the cricket scene,” he said on the sidelines of the training camp here at the National Cricket Academy.
He said that although they won T20 World Cup in England but his ultimate desire is to lead Pakistan to the World Cup title next year in the sub-continent.
Afridi pointed out that 2010 had been a very demanding year for Pakistan cricket, and he wanted to see the team start off on a winning note in 2011. “We will try to give Pakistan cricket the place it deserves in the new year,” he said.
