Trader kidnapped from Peshawar’s Saddar area

PESHAWAR: A trader was kidnapped from Peshawar’s Saddar area on Thursday.

According to CCTV footage of the incident, the kidnappers came to a shop in a white car and took the trader named Ikram with them.

On the other hand, police have said they are investigating the incident on technical grounds and have obtained CCTV footages from the cameras installed along different routes in order to get to the culprits.

Over a week ago, police in Peshawar in an operation had safely recovered two transporters abducted for Rs100 million ransom and also arrested one of the kidnappers.

Some men had kidnapped a transporter along with his friends from near Sarband Police Station in the Achini Double Road area on September 6.

Later they shifted them to an undisclosed location and demanded Rs100 million from their families in ransom. The incident was reported to Sarband Police Station on September 17, 2023, by a man named Amanullah.

Taking notice of the incident, CCPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar formed a special police team for the safe recovery of the victims.
