PML-LM demands Zardari’s resignation, change of governors for fair polls

LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League (PML)-Likeminded Chairman Hamid Nasir Chattha said on Sunday that President Asif Ali Zardari’s resignation and change of political governors in the provinces was essential for free and fair elections.

Chattha was addressing a convention of party workers at Band Road along with Provincial Information Secretary Mian Muhammad Asif.

They said that Zardari’s continued political activities were tantamount to contempt of court, adding that the Supreme Court and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should take notice of the matter. They said that the politics of “looters of the national exchequer” would be buried forever in the next elections. They said that the current Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was not a party founded by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, but a “Qabza group” of looters. They said that the rulers’ inept policies had pushed the country on the verge of destruction.
