Pakistan Post to start EMO service at 83 GPOs

ISLAMABAD - The newly introduced service of Electronic Money Order (EMO) by Pakistan Post would be extended to 83 General Post Offices (GPOs) of the country after it attracted a large number of customers during its trial period. According to a senior official of Pakistan Post, the EMO service had initially started in eleven cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi and Hyderabad.
He said this service allowed anyone to quickly transfer money within the country. Online accounts facility made the service easy and fast. Citizens were able to transfer up to Rs 100,000 within 30 seconds, he added. They said the service would be expanded to more cities and in the future that would allow money transfers outside the country also. The service had recently been launched in the following post offices, Karachi GPO, Karachi city GPO, Karachi Sadar GPO, Karachi Korangi GPO, Karachi New Town GPO, Karachi Haidri GPO, Lahore GPO, Lahore Cantt GPO, Faisalabad GPO, Islamabad GPO, Rawalpindi GPO, Muzaffarabad GPO, Sialkot GPO, Quetta GPO, Haiderabad GPO, Peshawar GPO and Multan GPO.
