EDO asked to explain distribution of ‘immoral’ material in schools

LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned the Executive District Officer (EDO) Education, Gujranwala, on September 25 on a petition against distribution of immoral material to female students.
The single bench comprising Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh issued the summoning orders on a petition filed by Tanzeem Arif through his counsel Nazir Umar.
The counsel argued that ‘immoral’ texts were being distributed in girl’s schools of Gujaranwala division.
The court was also told that the petitioner had lodged a complaint to the Punjab Chief Minister and senior education department officers but none paid heed.
The court has summoned EDO Education, Gujranwala on September 25 and has ordered secretary schools to ensure that no ‘immoral’ material should be distributed in schools.
