Three killed in Lahore fire exhange

LAHORE - Three robbers were killed and others fled the scene in an exchange of fire with police when they attempted to free their accomplices from police custody late Monday night.
According to details, CIA police had taken two robbers identified as Dilbar Khan and Hameedullah involved in bank robberies, to Sialkot for identification.
On return when the police van reached Saggian Bridge, armed robbers attacked the police and attempted to free their accomplices from police custody.
In exchange of fire three robbers Dilbar Khan, Hameedullah and an attacker Pir Kaleem were killed. Other attackers taking the advantage of darkness managed to escape.
DSP CIA Mian Shafqat said that 22-member robbers gang headed by the killed robber Dilbar Khan had looted more than 10 banks so far. He said that CIA has made significant progress in the bank robbery cases and the gang would be busted soon.
