Miniature paintings to unveil 80-year old techniques

ISLAMABAD - Around 80-year old miniature paintings of the British and Indian royal families and rulers will be displayed here at Gallery 6 on September 22. Sheikh Mohammad Mansoor of Karachi had inherited a collection of miniature paintings of his great grandfather Hafiz Sheikh Mohammad Amin and grandfather Sheikh Moin. Both these artists had made portraits in the Persian miniature style of the British and Indian royal families and rulers depicting unique aspects of the art in a delicate way.
Among the British portraits were those of Victoria Mary Augusta (wife of King George V), Victoria Alice Mary (the only daughter of King George V), Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh), Prince Andrew, Lord Curzon (Viceroy of India) and others.
