It is heartening to note that serious implementation of IP pipeline has started.
The previous government had simply put a momento during the last few weeks of its tenure, without any planning and without allocation of any funds. http://www.thenews.com.pk/Todays-News-9-164477-Pi...
The governments of dictator Musharraf and NRO-beneficiary Zardari deliberately tried to create a shortage of gas in Pakistan so as to justify huge kickbacks in JJVL http://pakobserver.net/detailnews.asp?id=226246 earlier in 2003 (The beneficiaries of LNG quota include various generals and wife of a PPP leader).
The pipeline was used by PPP as an election stunt that didn't work because Pakistani electorate is smart enough to recognize who can deliver, who cannot and who relies on rhetorics!
The PMLN Government should renegotiate the price of gas with the Iranian Government.
There is not doubt that Pakistan is a democratic country. but it is partial democracy...complete democracy is rarely found in any country as per my knowledge...everywhere there are black sheep, they create hurdles in the way of democracy. we should be optimistic and should perform our duty well instead of blaming others.
