JUI-F not to accept unilateral decision over caretaker setup

JUIF LEADER

ISLAMABAD - The central executive committee of Jammiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazlur Rehman (JUI-F) has refused to accept the two-party decision for constitution of caretaker setup and urged the government to take all stake holders into confidence in this regard.
This was decided during meeting of CEC JUI-F held here. Senior leaders of the party attended the meeting.
The meeting was of the view that ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) desire to impose self-directed decisions without consulting other opposition stakeholders which was against democratic norms.
The JUI-F leadership urged the government to avoid taking unilateral decision about the caretaker set up as they would not accept it.
The meeting said that JUI-F would participate in the general elections with full commitment and preparation and it also urged the party office bearers to strt the public meetings in concerned areas for persuading the people to vote for JUI (F).
The JUI-F also expressed grave concerns over the Sindh People Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) and said that besides people of province, political parties including in government alliance have also rejected it.
The meeting criticised the visit of UN commission regarding missing persons issue, reminding the world body that it avoids resolving real issues like Kashmir and Palestine but interfere in internal issues of sovereign countries on non issues.
