KESC waives off affected families’ electricity bills

KARACHI - Expressing its deepest sorrow on the loss of over 200 lives in the tragic fire incident in Baldia Town, the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Wednesday announced to waive off all the existing and outstanding electricity bills of the affected families. This has been done by the KESC under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. In addition, the utility said bereaved families would also be extended an ‘Electricity Bill Payment Exemption’ for the next six months. It said this was being done to express solidarity with the aggrieved families and to provide whatever solace it could. He said, being a critical link of the city and playing an important role in the lives of its dwellers, the KESC considered it as its social responsibility to offer its support and stand with its consumers in their trying times.
