PM invites Chinese companies to invest in IT sector

TAINJIN - Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday invited the Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan's emerging Information Technology sector.
The Prime Minister was talking to Chairman and CEO of Inspur (Computing) Group, a leading Chinese multinational company, who called on him here. The meeting was held on the sidelines of World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of New Champions in China's port city.
Raja Ashraf told the CEO of Inspur that there was a growing demand for advanced technology in Pakistan. He urged him to benefit from the country's investment-friendly environment by introducing new projects.
The Inspur CEO briefed the Prime Minister about his company's projects and said it wanted to invest in setting up high-performance computer centres in Pakistan at a cost of $20 million.
He said the company was already working with Telenor in Pakistan and intended to expand its network related to communication and technology, in other areas as well.
