LG Ordinance conspiracy to divide Sindh: Nisar


Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has rejected the Sindh Local Government Ordinance promulgated by Governor Sindh.
Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly and PML-N leader Ch Nisar Ali on Friday said that LB Ordinance was equivalent to the division of Sindh province.
He said Sindh was not the personal property of any political party or individual and all important decisions must be taken with consensus.
The ordinance protects the vested interests of the rulers rather than the interest of the people, he said.
ANP and PML Functional too had expressed their reservations regarding the said act.
Earlier Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Thursday night promulgated the new Sindh local government ordinance known as Sindh People’s Local Government Ordinance, 2012.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah signed the summary the new Local Government Ordinance and sent it to the governor.
According to the sources, the LG system will be functional in five districts of the province which included Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpurkhas while remaining parts of the province will have the District Councils.
PPP and MQM, held a meeting at Chief Minister House where both the ruling coalition partners reached a consensus over the provisions of Sindh LG Ordinance.
